Eugene Young

Eugene Young is the current director of the Delaware State Housing Authority. He was selected by Gov. John Carney in 2021 and has worked on increasing renters' rights and providing down payment assistance for homebuyers.

Young was born and raised in Wilmington. He graduated from from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a dual major in information systems and sociology before receiving a master's degree in public administration from Wilmington University. He now lives with his wife and their two children in Wilmington.

Young has previously acted as the president and CEO of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League and cofounded Network Delaware, a grassroots civic leadership development organization. With these organizations Young worked towards supporting a $15 minimum wage and increasing healthcare access for mothers and infants. Key issues for his congressional campaign include:
